Affordable housing for young people in Bertrange

  • We want Bertrange to remain a municipality where young people can settle down and build their future.
  • With this new regulation, the municipality is establishing a framework to offer affordable housing to young people aged 18 to 30, whether they are in secondary school, training, university or working in Luxembourg. Young people from Bertrange will be given priority.
  • The rent is set at €30 per square metre, including electricity, water, heating and internet, with no additional charges.
  • From 1 April 2026, the municipality will take the first step by renting a house with four furnished rooms for young people.
  • The registration procedures will be published shortly on the municipality’s website.

New medical practice in Bertrange

  • The premises of the former school doctor, located on Rue de la Fontaine, will be repurposed. From June 1, 2026, a young specialist in endocrinology and diabetology will open a medical practice there.
  • Through this initiative, the municipality aims to strengthen the range of medical specialties available in Bertrange and thus improve access to healthcare for its citizens.
  • In the meantime, the school doctor and the infant clinic (0–4 years) have been relocated to new premises:

⟶ School doctor: École Beim Schlass

⟶ Infant clinic: Maison Schauwenburg

  • The municipality is thus continuing its commitment to providing a diverse and high-quality range of medical services for the residents of Bertrange.

Bertrange, a municipality that lives and breathes sport

  • The municipality of Bertrange has signed the ‘Meng Gemeng lieft Sport’ charter, an initiative of the Ministry of Sport as part of the ‘Lëtzebuerg lieft Sport’ programme.
  • The aim is to make sport even more accessible to all, to strengthen networking between stakeholders and to develop the municipality’s sports facilities and infrastructure.
  • In Bertrange, sport is already an integral part of community life thanks to our clubs, facilities and initiatives for all ages. With this charter and the support of a sports coordinator, we will be able to coordinate sporting activities even more effectively and develop new initiatives.
  • Our objective is clear: to encourage as many residents as possible to take up a sporting activity and make Bertrange an even more active, healthy and inclusive community.
