31 years, statistician for the government, Contern

Charel Muller, 31 years old, works as a statistician for the government and has been living in Contern for 5 years.
I am married and have a young son who is a few months old. As a committed individual, I value community and association involvement. Additionally, I have a keen interest in mobility, which is why I have been a member of the Mobility Commission for several years. Being part of a young family, it is also important to me to be able to provide affordable housing to our citizens.

My name is Charel Muller and I am 31 years old. Five years ago, my wife and I moved to Contern and a few months ago, we had a little boy. I studied Sociology and Statistics in Munich and Cologne and I work as a state statistician. In this role, I create agricultural statistics for national and European purposes. I enjoy serving the citizens and strive to summarize the complex field of agriculture into meaningful numbers.

During my free time, I like to spend time with my family and go cycling. I am also actively involved in my community. That’s why, when we moved to Contern, I immediately volunteered for the BD Commission, where I mainly take care of logistics to ensure the smooth running of the BD Festival weekends. I am delighted to see the entire community and its associations working together to organize such a large-scale event. I am always ready to lend a hand in other areas when support is needed.

On the political level, as a candidate for the DP, I want to advocate for the importance of community and association life. To maintain a thriving social life in a growing community, necessary support is indispensable. Furthermore, I aim to promote better integration of municipal commissions and value their advisory function. Lastly, mobility is a topic close to my heart. Whether it’s public transportation, cars, walking, or cycling, as a member of the Mobility Commission, I will continue to support infrastructure development in all these areas. Additionally, as a young citizen, it is important to me that the community continues to provide affordable housing.
