Lydie Polfer was sworn in for the first time at the “Krautmaart” in 1979. During her career, the trained lawyer has been a member of the European Parliament, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister for Public Administration and Administrative Reform. She has been a Member of the Luxembourgish Parliament since 2009. In her parliamentary work, she is particularly committed to the safety and well-being of citizens and municipalities. Lydie Polfer was the mayor of the City of Luxembourg for the first time from 1982 to 1999. A mandate she is holding again since 2013.
