A model neighbourhood on Kirchberg

JFK Sud is a residential neighbourhood being developed on Kirchberg, directly opposite the European Parliament. Providing affordable housing is one of its key priorities. By 2029, more than 245 housing units will be built, with a substantial number allocated to affordable rentals and a significant share available for affordable purchase.

The project’s location could hardly be better: close to cultural amenities and shops, and with excellent access to transport options, including the tram, the funicular, buses and cycling infrastructure. As highlighted today in Parliament by rapporteur of the bill Patrick Goldschmidt, JFK Sud will create a neighbourhood that integrates seamlessly into the modern and dynamic character of Kirchberg.

At the same time, the project is carefully designed to fit into its surroundings while preserving quality of life. Green spaces and natural elements will be incorporated throughout and around the development, and the core of JFK Sud will be traffic-free. This ensures that residents can enjoy peace and quiet and benefit from nature, despite being located near a busy and vibrant area.

Expanding affordable housing remains a key priority for the government. Projects like this not only increase supply but also support the construction sector, enabling it to sustain employment.
