Administrative burden in primary education

Despite the Ministry of Education’s efforts to simplify administrative tasks in primary schools, unions point to a growing bureaucratic burden on teachers. What is the actual situation on the ground, and how might artificial intelligence play a role? A parliamentary question from our MPs Gilles Baum and Barbara Agostino seeks answers.

Question

« Le Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse poursuit une politique de simplification administrative dans l’organisation scolaire, visant à réduire les obstacles bureaucratiques et à faciliter ainsi le quotidien des enseignants et des directions d’école.

Cependant, il nous a été rapporté par les syndicats actifs dans le domaine de l’éducation nationale que la charge bureaucratique des enseignants aurait plutôt augmenté, ce qui irait à l’encontre du principe de simplification administrative.

Dans ce contexte, nous aimerions poser les questions suivantes à Monsieur le Ministre de l’Éducation nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse :

  1. Monsieur le Ministre peut-il préciser quelle est actuellement l’ampleur de la charge administrative qui pèse sur les enseignants de l’enseignement fondamental ?
  2. Quelles mesures concrètes sont prévues pour réduire davantage cette charge administrative ?
  3. Qui est chargé de veiller à la correcte mise en œuvre de ces mesures ?

Le Ministère envisage-t-il de recourir aux possibilités offertes par l’intelligence artificielle dans le cadre de la simplification administrative ? Si oui, dans quels domaines ? »

How many people suffer from anorexia?

In addition to obesity, anorexia is also a problem in our society. DP MPs André Bauler and Gilles Baum asked the Minister of Health, among other things, how many anorexia patients in Luxembourg had to be hospitalised, how long treatment lasts on average, and how treatment costs have developed over the last ten years.

No access to biological results in the LëtzHBM study?

As part of the LNS study ‘LëtzHBM’, biological and environmental samples are collected to determine the presence of chemical substances in private households. The results of the biological samples, unlike the environmental samples, are not systematically communicated to the participants.
DP MP Dr Gérard Schockmel has asked the Minister of Health why these results are not communicated and whether this is compatible with data protection regulations.
