Charles Goerens

North, Member of the European Parliament

Charles Goerens was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1979. He was constantly re-elected thereafter. From 1982 to 1984, he was a member of the European Parliament for the first time. He was directly re-elected in 1999, but was called to the Juncker-Polfer government. After becoming again a national MP, he returned to the European Parliament in 2009 and retained his seat after the elections of May 2014 and May 2019. In addition, Charles Goerens was President of the Democratic Party from 1989 to 1994.
