How can children’s health be improved?

Children's health problems are increasing and access to paediatricians is becoming more and more difficult. DP MPs Mandy Minella and Carole Hartmann asked the Minister of Health what measures are planned to improve the situation, whether a national strategy for child health is planned and whether a national coordinator for child health should be appointed.

« Une enquête de l’HBSC (Health Behaviour in School-aged Children) de 2022, ainsi que le rapport de l’Okaju de 2023 et l’audit récent réalisé auprès de la médecine scolaire, indiquent tous les trois l’accumulation de problèmes de santé chez les enfants au Luxembourg. L’accès aux soins de santé, tant physiques que psychologiques, constitue également un défi.

Dans ce contexte, nous aimerions poser les questions suivantes à Madame la Ministre de la Santé et de la Sécurité sociale :

  • Quelles sont les mesures prévues pour améliorer les soins de santé de nos enfants ?
  • Madame la Ministre, envisage-t-elle la mise en œuvre d’une stratégie nationale dédiée à la santé des enfants ?
  • Madame la Ministre, quel est son avis sur la proposition de l’Okaju de mettre en place un coordinateur national de la santé infantile ?
  • Est-il envisagé de créer une plateforme nationale d’échange de bonnes pratiques et initiatives en matière de soins pédiatriques ?
  • Madame la Ministre, juge-t-elle utile de prévoir spécifiquement la profession de psychothérapeute pour enfants et adolescents dans la législature nationale afin d’améliorer l’accès aux soins de santé mentale des enfants ? »

How many women are released from work during pregnancy?

Should the LNS and private laboratories work closer together on biopsies?

The LNS, which has a monopoly in this area, has taken a number of measures to counteract the long waiting times for the evaluation of biopsies.
DP MPs Mandy Minella and Dr Gérard Schockmel have asked the Minister of Health what impact these measures have had on waiting times and whether greater cooperation with private laboratories should be considered in order to further reduce waiting times.

No more reimbursement for dermatoscopic photos?

As part of a dermatologist’s examination, photos can be taken of suspicious skin areas where there is a risk of skin cancer developing. DP MP Gusty Graas has now been informed that these photos will no longer be reimbursed by health insurance. In a parliamentary question to the Minister of Health, the liberal politician would like to know, among other things, why this decision was made and how many patients have been reimbursed for such photos taken by dermatologists in the last five years.
