The “Asian hornet”, a danger for bee colonies

The “Asian hornet” has been destroying bee colonies in the Western Palatinate and eating their honey for a few years now. Many bee colonies in Rhineland-Palatinate are also affected by the “Varroa mite”. DP MPs André Bauler and Luc Emering asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Viticulture how many bee colonies have fallen victim to the “varroa mite” in the last five years, whether the “Asian hornet” is already active in Luxembourg, how bee colonies can be protected against it and what the cooperation between beekeepers and the Ministry looks like.

„Mir si gewuer ginn, datt déi sou genannt “Asiatesch Horniss” d’Beievëlker an der Westpfalz zanter enger Rei Joren zerstéiert an hiren Hunneg opfrësst. Dat féiert dozou, datt den Ökosystem an dëser Géigend gestéiert gëtt an datt just ronn een Drëttel vun de Beievëlker iwwerliewe kéint. Dozou kënnt, datt eng Rëtsch Beievëlker a Rheinland-Pfalz krank sinn, well de Wanter zimmlech mëll war a well se vun der “Varroamilbe” befall sinn.

An deem Kader wollte mir der Madamm Ministesch fir Landwirtschaft, Ernärung a Wäibau follgend Froe stellen:

1. Wéi vill Beievëlker sinn an de leschte fënnef Joer der “Varroamilbe” zum Affer gefall?

2. Ass déi “Asiatesch Horniss” mëttlerweil och zu Lëtzebuerg aktiv?

3. Mat wat fir enge Mëttel kann et gelénge fir d’Beievëlker virun dësem aggressivem Insekt ze schützen?

4. Wéi gesäit an dësem Kontext d’Zesummenaarbecht tëscht de Beienziichter an dem Ministère aus?“

How long do patients wait for authorisation for a dental prosthesis?

When a patient needs a dental prosthesis, the dentist must first send a cost estimate to the Medical Control of the Social Security (CMSS). Without the authorisation of the CMSS, the patient will not be reimbursed for the dental prosthesis.

DP MPs Corinne Cahen and Carole Hartmann have asked the minister responsible how many estimates have been received this year, how long the waiting times currently are and whether interim solutions can be proposed to a patient until the CMSS has given its approval.
