Time to grow, discover and get involved

Esou sollen déi Jonk d’Méiglechkeet kréien, fir hir Zäit méi selbststänneg fir hir Entwécklung a fir hiert Engagement ze notzen.

Den Aktiounsplang berücksichtegt déi europäesch Jugendstrategien a gouf zesumme mam Jugendsecteur ausgeschafft.

At the heart of the pact is a better balance between screen time and offline activities. As personal contact is essential to young people’s social skills and well-being, the Youth Pact builds on the Screen-Life-Balance campaign and creates opportunities to develop friendships, nurture talents and take on responsibility.

“We want to offer young people quality time. All too often, screens dominate their leisure time,” Claude Meisch stressed.

Déi 48 Mesurë verdeele sech op fënnef Schwéierpunkten:

  • – Spending more time with peers: Municipalities and other local stakeholders are encouraged to create youth cafés where young people can meet spontaneously and without commitments.
  • – Making time for yourself (Me time): The new *JugendAkademie* online platform brings together training courses offered by the SNJ and other organisations, including youth activity leader training. The offering will be expanded to help young people develop skills and discover new interests.
  • – Getting involved in the community: The Youth Council’s Jugenddësch Bénévolat will work with the relevant ministries to develop measures that make volunteering easier, encourage it and give it recognition.
  • – Accessing information: Through Deng Gemeng, deng Infoen, the ministry supports youth-friendly communication about local activities and services to strengthen young people’s participation in community life.
  • – Receiving support: Closer cooperation between youth centres, supported housing services and stakeholders in social services, education, health, employment and integration will make it easier to access targeted assistance.

Young people’s needs are also taken into account beyond the youth sector. The ministry therefore contributes to national action plans led by other ministries, particularly in areas such as housing, health and employment.

Dialogue with young people and the sector will continue throughout implementation, and the measures will be regularly reviewed and adjusted.
