Solar collectors on the ground

In a recent statement, the Ecological Movement and the Luxembourg young farmers and rural youth demand that PV plants be installed as a priority on buildings or other already used areas, and as little as possible on the ground, so as to limit further soil sealing. DP members Max Hahn and André Bauler asked the relevant ministers how they feel about this and how big the area is in Luxembourg that is currently occupied by PV plants.

« De Mouvement écologique an d’Lëtzebuerger Landjugend a Jongbaueren hu rezent an engem gemeinsame Pabeier drop opmierksam gemaach, datt Photovoltaikanlage prioritär op scho versigelte Fläche sollen installéiert ginn. Grondsätzlech soll d’Opstelle vu sou Installatiounen an der oppener Landschaft souwéi op landwirtschaftleche Flächen ageschränkt ginn, zumindest sou laang bis all aner Méiglechkeeten ausgeschäffelt sinn.

Si fuerderen donieft, dass nëmme begrenzt Agrophotovoltaikanlagen an ënner ganz restriktive Konditiounen zougelooss an entspriechend Ofännerungen am iwwerschafften Naturschutzgesetz duerchgeféiert solle ginn. Och déi staatlech Ausschreiwunge fir grouss PV-Anlage sollten deementspriechend Krittäre virgesinn.

Aus all deene Grënn wollte mer der Madamm Ministesch fir Ëmwelt, Klima an nohalteg Entwécklung an dem Här Minister fir Energie folgend Froe stellen :

  1. Wéi positionéiert sech d’Madamm Ministesch an den Här Minister par Rapport zu de Revendicatioune vun de genannten Organisatiounen ?
  2. No wat fir enge Kritäre kéinte Photovoltaikanlagen op fräie Flächen a Fro kommen bzw. geneemegt ginn ?
  3. Sinn der Regierung konkret Projete bekannt, wou sou Anlagen op fräie Flächen installéiert goufen oder installéiert solle ginn ? Kann d’Regierung eis präzis Beispiller nennen ? Wéi grouss ass déi mëttlerweil verplangten respektiv genotzte Fläch ?
  4. Vu dass et déi eng oder aner Plaz am Land gëtt, wou an der Gréngzon op Agrarflächen nach Reschter vun ale Solaranlage stinn, wéi vill Anlagen, déi a Wisen oder op Felder stoungen an net méi a Betrib sinn, si mëttlerweil demontéiert ginn ? »

How long are the waiting times at the “Travel Clinic”?

If you are travelling to tropical regions, you can get advice and be vaccinated against various diseases at the CHL’s “Travel Clinic”. However, the waiting times at this clinic are currently said to be quite long.
DP MPs Dr Gérard Schockmel and Gilles Baum have asked the Minister of Health how many patients have been seen at the “Travel Clinic” over the last ten years, how waiting times have developed over this period and whether it would not make sense to make it possible to book appointments online, as is the case with many other CHL services.

Medical referrals abroad

Since 1 June 2025, doctors have to fill out a new form if they want to send a patient abroad for treatment. The doctor must now indicate whether or not the services can be provided in Luxembourg within an ‘acceptable period’. If the doctor indicates that the services could actually be provided in Luxembourg, the referral request is automatically rejected.
DP MP Dr Gérard Schockmel has asked the Minister of Health whether the mere reduction to the ‘acceptable period’, without taking into account the quality of care, might not lead to unjustified rejections and whether the new form might not force doctors to provide false information in order to guarantee their patients the best possible care.
