The DP explicitly welcomes the fact that the radiology center at Cloche d’Or will be able to start receiving patients in the coming months.
Insured individuals rightly expect a broader range of services and shorter waiting times for essential diagnostic procedures such as MRIs and mammograms. Every day counts — in many cases, a precise diagnosis is essential to determine the appropriate treatment.
In their coalition agreement, the DP and CSV committed to expanding medical services and the availability of diagnostic tests in outpatient practices. It is crucial that physicians — either independently or in cooperation with hospitals — are able to take the necessary initiatives to this end. This will only be possible if the hospital and medical laws are adapted accordingly.
Doctors, organized in professional associations, should also be able to carry out minor surgical procedures in these multidisciplinary practices — such as cataract surgeries, routine endoscopies like preventive colonoscopies, and of course radiological exams, mammographies, bone density scans, and MRIs. A new financing model for these practices, based on the medical acts’ nomenclature, will make this possible and, at the same time, help relieve pressure on overstretched hospital budgets.
The DP fully supports this reform aimed at improving access to quality healthcare and ensuring faster medical care. We remain firmly committed to keeping health a top priority in Luxembourg.
