Modernisation of the CITA?

The coalition agreement provides for the modernisation of the CITA and the development of an IT strategy for the road administration in order to better manage traffic flows and improve information for drivers. The deputy of the DP Max Hahn inquired with the competent minister on the progress of the related work.

Answer

In the summer of 2020, the document “CITA strategic vision 2030” was completed, which set out three axes: capitalize, modernize, enrich. This means that, firstly, the elements that have a lasting value will be identified, secondly, certain elements will be adapted to the technical progress and thirdly, new elements will be added that have not been available so far. Thus, in future e.g. dynamic speed modulations will be possible as well as the dynamic opening and closing of stand tracks at peak times.
