The Covid helpline does not always work optimally

DP MP Gusty Graas has asked the Minister of Health, among other things, why the helpline does not inform you about your position in the queue.

« La Helpline Covid, une initiative louable, est à la disposition des citoyens pour toutes les questions concernant le Covid-19 ou les vaccins.

Il semble toutefois que le service ne fonctionne pas toujours de manière optimale. Les appels restent souvent longtemps sans réponse et une indication du temps d’attente, une pratique d’ailleurs courante dans beaucoup d’entreprises, fait défaut.

À ce sujet, j’aimerais donc poser les questions suivantes à Madame la Ministre de la Santé :

  • Madame la Ministre, peut-elle me renseigner sur le nombre  de personnes travaillant actuellement à la Helpline Covid ?
  • Combien de personnes appellent chaque jour la Helpline Covid ?
  • Madame la Ministre, ne juge-t-elle pas utile que les appelants soient informés de leur position dans la file d’attente ? »

Answer

La helpline en relation avec la Covid-19 compte actuellement 29 ETP. A partir du 19 janvier prochain, elle sera cependant renforcée par 50 personnes supplémentaires auxquelles il a pu être fait appel via un marché public.

Le nombre d’appels dépend fortement du jour ainsi que de la situation épidémiologique. Par ailleurs, on constate une augmentation importante des appels suite à l’annonce de nouvelles dispositions légales ou de nouvelles recommandations sanitaires. Le nombre d’appels peut varier entre 1.500 et 12.500 appels par jour.

Au vu du nombre croissant d’appelants à la helpline, il est effectivement prévu, en parallèle à l’augmentation des ressources disponibles pour la gestion de la helpline, d’améliorer le dispositif afin de mieux servir les appelants. Cela peut notamment inclure l’option que les appelants soient informés du temps d’attente.

Should the LNS and private laboratories work closer together on biopsies?

The LNS, which has a monopoly in this area, has taken a number of measures to counteract the long waiting times for the evaluation of biopsies.
DP MPs Mandy Minella and Dr Gérard Schockmel have asked the Minister of Health what impact these measures have had on waiting times and whether greater cooperation with private laboratories should be considered in order to further reduce waiting times.

No more reimbursement for dermatoscopic photos?

As part of a dermatologist’s examination, photos can be taken of suspicious skin areas where there is a risk of skin cancer developing. DP MP Gusty Graas has now been informed that these photos will no longer be reimbursed by health insurance. In a parliamentary question to the Minister of Health, the liberal politician would like to know, among other things, why this decision was made and how many patients have been reimbursed for such photos taken by dermatologists in the last five years.
